Old things are passed away.
All things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17
1 Corinthians 3:1-2
Matthew 6:24-33
Revelation 3:20

2 Corinthians 5:17

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

1 Corinthians 3:1-2

1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

Matthew 6:24-33

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Revelation 3:20

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

The enemy has held people in bondage because of their past.

  • Our past shouldn't be a problem for us because in Christ we are new
  • There may be residue of the old life but anyone who is saved should be displaying something new in their life.

Whenever you start to get close to God the devil will begin to stir up things from your past to distract you from your future

  1. Every day we are changing from glory to glory
  2. Whenever things from your past pop up you have to learn to shut it down
  3. When you act like the person you WERE you neutralize the person you're becoming

Be careful not to be carnal — you are not the same

  1. If you are getting into arguments and striving against people you are in the wrong –
because you should never allow yourself to get caught up in that
  2. We need to stop worrying about things.
  3. Our life does not consist of things in this life

You can't serve God and things.

  1. Never let anyone deceive you by tying a blessing to money.
  2. We have to be different.
  3. Be careful what you wear.
  4. Be moderate.
  5. You're representing the King.
  6. You don't need new clothes to define you.
  7. You're already new.
  8. Instead prioritize God's reign and rule and what He wants from your life.
  9. If you do that, God will take care of what you will eat and wear.

Take no thought for tomorrow. Priests, God's people deal only in today.

  1. Tomorrow will cause you worry.
  2. Tomorrow will depress.
  3. All we have is today

God is looking for quality time.

  1. A time where you sit with Him and don't ask for anything.
  2. Don't be too busy.
